What events are considered ‘community’ events?
Events are considered ‘community’ events if they are open to the public and are not for individual promotion. For example, one person hosting a garage sale may not submit their event because it is individual promotion. However, if a group of people are hosting a neighborhood or city-wide garage sale, this becomes an event and it would be appropriate to submit to the Community Calendar.

As a business, what counts as a community event versus promotion?  
An event that is open to the public and falls outside of typical operations may be appropriate for the Community Calendar.

Possible examples include:
 Festivals
 Live music/Concert
 Community benefits or fundraisers 

Promotion examples include:
Daily Specials
New hours/schedules

How do I add events to the calendar?
I would like to submit information once in a while:
Click on the “Submit an Event” button at the top of the page, fill in your information, then hit submit. Your request is then sent to an admin who will make sure it meets the “Submission Guidelines” for the community calendar. Please allow 1-3 business days for approval.

I’m a community organizer or a member of a group that is involved with many events.
You may benefit from becoming a partner agency! The process for submission is the exact same as above, but partner agencies have the ability to skip the ‘approval’ step, so your info gets posted right away. You can also edit your events, and delete your posts if need be.

There is a benefit being held for a Marquette County family at a location outside of Marquette County. Can this go on the calendar?
Yes.
This calendar was created to highlight Marquette County and the local events that make our communities so wonderful. With that said, our communities would not be as great as they are without the people who live here, so this is the one exception to our ‘Submission Guidelines.’
