Frequently Asked Questions
What constitutes an event being a community event?
The event is not for individual promotion and it is open to the public.
For example, one person hosting a garage sale may not submit their event because it is individual promotion. However, if a group of people are hosting a neighborhood or city-wide garage sale, this would be appropriate to submit to the Community Calendar because it is benefitting more than one person.
As a business, what counts as a community event versus promotion?
An event that is open to the public and falls outside of typical operations may be appropriate for the Community Calendar.
Possible examples include:
Festivals
Customer appreciation event
Live music/Concert
Community benefits or fundraisers
