Haunted candlelight tour of Dodge House & Opera House, then a silent Buster Keaton film & popcorn… if you dare stay till the end.
Step onto a guided tour through the doors of the Historic Dodge House, built in 1893, by candlelight if you dare, and wander rooms where the original furnishings still sit undisturbed, as though the family who once lived there never truly left. Your guide will share stories from Montello’s past, some warm and familiar, others best saved for after dark.
From there, cross into the Montello Theater, once known as Dodge’s Opera House, where the stage has hosted over 140 years of performances. Walk the lobby, lined with the faces of those who came before, then descend into the lower-level history museum, where old artifacts wait quietly in the shadows. Some say the theater never quite emptied out.
Your two-hour guided tour ends the way audiences did back in the 1920s, with a classic Buster Keaton silent film flickering by candlelight, popcorn in hand, and the past watching close behind. Guides will walk with you every step
