Chicken Chew this year will be a tribute to a small village that produces a great festival. The 51st Anniversary of Chicken Chew will be June 23, 24, and 25 with lots of activities for everyone in the family. There will be tons of activities all three days of the event. A carnival is coming for all 3 days and wristbands will be available each day.
On Friday night, The 3-day softball tournament kicks off, Prince of Peace serves its famous Fish Fry (Bake) from 4:30–7:00 pm, and the popular band Road Trip plays from 8–11 pm. The carnival will offer wristbands for rides from 6-10 pm.
On Saturday, start your day with a pancake breakfast from 7:30-11:00 am. Many more activities take place, including the Rodz & Ratz Revival Car Show, car & snowmobile swap meet, craft & flea market, quilt show at the Community Center from 10-3, village-wide garage sales from 8-4, volleyball and cornhole tournaments, library book sale from 8-12 noon, and more! The Coloma Historical Society exhibit will feature 51 years of the Chicken Chew and the Coloma School Grand Reunion featuring 10 Year (2013), 15 Year (2008) and 25 Year (1998).
Saturday afternoon also includes bingo, Chicken Drop, and a beer pong tournament. There is a pig roast dinner starting at 4 pm, and the Blooze Brothers will entertain from 8–11. Fireworks go off at dusk. Kids’ games will be featured, along with face painting on Saturday and a pedal pull at 1 pm.
Sunday is the parade, and the famous chicken dinners will be served, both beginning at 11 a.m. There’s also a classic car show and craft & flea market at the park, quilt show at the Community Center from 10-3, more garage sales around town, bingo at the park, face painting, softball, Historical Museum will be open, raffle drawings, and more.
Food and refreshments will be available at the food stand Saturday and Sunday. Carnival wristbands will be for sale and don’t miss the Chair Silent Auction where you can bid on your favorite painted chair to benefit the Coloma Business Association.
